Be sure to turn up the volume and listen to an excerpt from the 80-minute audio CD included in each book.

Bob Harris was just named  the 2011
North Carolina Sportscaster of the Year!

More than a history of Duke sports for the last 36 years, this beautiful, HARD-COVER book will give fans a behind the scenes look into Bob's life growing up in small-town America, and the choices he made that ultimately led him to where he is today as one of the most well known voices in college sports.

Through stories recounted by Bob and many former players, coaches and friends, readers will get to experience what it has been like to work with some of the most talented individuals in college and professional sports.
Included in each book is an 80-minute  audio CD of Bob's favorite interviews, calls, and moments in sports.  From interviews with Muhammad Ali and Red Skelton, to calls of national championships and "THE SHOT," this CD is a perfect companion to the book and will have all who listen shouting,
             "How Sweet It Is!"

On October 14, 2011, Bob announced his 400th consecutive Duke football radio broadcast. There was a tailgate party, cake and t-shirts to commemorate the occasion. Tuesday following the game, Coach David Cutcliff and the Duke football team presented Bob with a specially-made Duke football!
Below is a picture with the captains of the team.
How Sweet it Is!

Born in the small town of Albemarle, North Carolina, Bob has been the Voice of Duke football and basketball for 36 years and also hosts the Duke coaches' TV shows.

His Duke sports announcing career has spanned 11 NCAA Men's Basketball Final Fours, nine championship game appearances and FOUR national titles. He has called more than 1,000 Duke basketball games in his career. Bob is entering his fifth decade in radio sportscasting.

Bob has been honored twice as North Carolina's sportscaster of the year and has also received the Robert Marlowe and Ray Reeve awards for sports broadcasting. In 2006, he was inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.

At the 2009 ACC Tournament in Atlanta, Bob received the Marvin “Skeeter” Francis Award, which is given by the Atlantic Coast Conference Sports Media Association. The ACC began the annual "Skeeter" Francis Award in 1990, recognizing individuals for distinguished service and promotion to the ACC.
